2016-10-27Remove ASTERISK_REGISTER_FILE.Corey Farrell
ASTERISK_REGISTER_FILE no longer has any purpose so this commit removes all traces of it. Previously exported symbols removed: * __ast_register_file * __ast_unregister_file * ast_complete_source_filename This also removes the mtx_prof static variable that was declared when MTX_PROFILE was enabled. This variable was only used in lock.c so it is now initialized in that file only. ASTERISK-26480 #close Change-Id: I1074af07d71f9e159c48ef36631aa432c86f9966
2015-04-13git migration: Refactor the ASTERISK_FILE_VERSION macroMatt Jordan
Git does not support the ability to replace a token with a version string during check-in. While it does have support for replacing a token on clone, this is somewhat sub-optimal: the token is replaced with the object hash, which is not particularly easy for human consumption. What's more, in practice, the source file version was often not terribly useful. Generally, when triaging bugs, the overall version of Asterisk is far more useful than an individual SVN version of a file. As a result, this patch removes Asterisk's support for showing source file versions. Specifically, it does the following: * Rename ASTERISK_FILE_VERSION macro to ASTERISK_REGISTER_FILE, and remove passing the version in with the macro. Other facilities than 'core show file version' make use of the file names, such as setting a debug level only on a specific file. As such, the act of registering source files with the Asterisk core still has use. The macro rename now reflects the new macro purpose. * main/asterisk: - Refactor the file_version structure to reflect that it no longer tracks a version field. - Remove the "core show file version" CLI command. Without the file version, it is no longer useful. - Remove the ast_file_version_find function. The file version is no longer tracked. - Rename ast_register_file_version/ast_unregister_file_version to ast_register_file/ast_unregister_file, respectively. * main/manager: Remove value from the Version key of the ModuleCheck Action. The actual key itself has not been removed, as doing so would absolutely constitute a backwards incompatible change. However, since the file version is no longer tracked, there is no need to attempt to include it in the Version key. * UPGRADE: Add notes for: - Modification to the ModuleCheck AMI Action - Removal of the "core show file version" CLI command Change-Id: I6cf0ff280e1668bf4957dc21f32a5ff43444a40e
2015-03-26Replace most uses of ast_register_atexit with ast_register_cleanup.Corey Farrell
Since 'core stop now' and 'core restart now' do not stop modules, it is unsafe for most of the core to run cleanups. Originally all cleanups used ast_register_atexit, and were only changed when it was shown to be unsafe. ast_register_atexit is now used only when absolutely required to prevent corruption and close child processes. Exceptions that need to use ast_register_atexit: * CDR: Flush records. * res_musiconhold: Kill external applications. * AstDB: Close the DB. * canary_exit: Kill canary process. 2014-02-07timing: Improve performance for most timing implementations.Joshua Colp
This change allows timing implementation data to be stored directly on the timer itself thus removing the requirement for many implementations to do a container lookup for the same information. This means that API calls into timing implementations can directly access the information they need instead of having to find it. 2012-11-05Refactor ast_timer_ack to return an error and handle the error in timer usersMatthew Jordan
Currently, if an acknowledgement of a timer fails Asterisk will not realize that a serious error occurred and will continue attempting to use the timer's file descriptor. This can lead to situations where errors stream to the CLI/log file. This consumes significant resources, masks the actual problem that occurred (whatever caused the timer to fail in the first place), and can leave channels in odd states. This patch propagates the errors in the timing resource modules up through the timer core, and makes users of these timers handle acknowledgement failures. It also adds some defensive coding around the use of timers to prevent using bad file descriptors in off nominal code paths. Note that the patch created by the issue reporter was modified slightly for this commit and backported to 1.8, as it was originally written for Asterisk 10. Since we now have tools that scan through the source tree looking for files with specific support levels, we need to ensure that every file that is a component of a 'core' or 'extended' module (or the main Asterisk binary) is explicitly marked with its support level. This patch adds support-level indications to many more source files in tree, but avoids adding them to third-party libraries that are included in the tree and to source files that don't end up involved in Asterisk itself. ........ r369002 | kpfleming | 2012-06-15 10:57:14 -0500 (Fri, 15 Jun 2012) | 3 lines Add a script to enable finding source files without support-levels defined. ........ To fix this issue the alert pipe will now be used when the timerfd module is in use. There appeared to be a race that was not solved by adding locking in the timerfd module, but needed to be there anyway. The race was between the timer being put in non-continuous mode in ast_read on the channel thread and the IAX frame scheduler queuing a frame which would enable continuous mode before the non-continuous mode event was read. This race for now is simply avoided. (closes issue #18110) Reported by: tpanton Tested by: tpanton I put tested by tpanton because it was tested on his hardware. 2010-01-18Extend max call limit duration from 24.8 days to 292+ million years.Jeff Peeler
If the limit was set past MAX_INT upon answering, the call was immediately hung up due to overflow from the return of ast_tvdiff_ms (in ast_check_hangup). The time calculation functions ast_tvdiff_sec and ast_tvdiff_ms have been changed to return an int64_t to prevent overflow. Also the reporter suggested adding a message indicating the reason for the call hanging up. Given that the new limit is so much higher, the message (which would only really be useful in the overflow scenario) has been made a debug message only. 2009-03-27Improve timing interface to remember which provider provided a timerKevin P. Fleming
The ability to load/unload timing interfaces is nice, but it means that when a timer is allocated, it may come from provider A, but later provider B becomes the 'preferred' provider. If this happens, all timer API calls on the timer that was provided by provider A will actually be handed to provider B, which will say WTF and return an error. This patch changes the timer API to include a pointer to the provider of the timer handle so that future operations on the timer will be forwarded to the proper provider.
