2017-01-04core/pbx: dialplan show - display filename/line#Jonathan R. Rose
Adds the ability for extensions to be registered to include filename and line number so that dialplan show output can show the filename and line number of a config file responsible for generating a given extension. This only affects config modules that are written to use the new extension registering functions. In this patch, that only includes pbx_config, so extensions registered in extensions.conf and any included extension will be shown in this manner. Extensions registered in this manner will show the filename and line number *instead* of the registrar. ASTERISK-26658 #close Reported by: Jonathan R. 2016-10-27Remove ASTERISK_REGISTER_FILE.Corey Farrell
ASTERISK_REGISTER_FILE no longer has any purpose so this commit removes all traces of it. Previously exported symbols removed: * __ast_register_file * __ast_unregister_file * ast_complete_source_filename This also removes the mtx_prof static variable that was declared when MTX_PROFILE was enabled. This variable was only used in lock.c so it is now initialized in that file only. ASTERISK-26480 #close Change-Id: I1074af07d71f9e159c48ef36631aa432c86f9966
2016-07-21pbx: Create pbx_sw.c for management of 'struct ast_sw'.Corey Farrell
This changes context switches from a linked list to a vector, makes 'struct ast_sw' opaque to pbx.c. Although ast_walk_context_switches is maintained the procedure is no longer efficient except for the first call (inc==NULL). This functionality is replaced by two new functions implemented by vector macros. * ast_context_switches_count (AST_VECTOR_SIZE) * ast_context_switches_get (AST_VECTOR_GET) As with ast_walk_context_switches callers of these functions are expected to have locked contexts. Only a few places in Asterisk walked the switches, they have been converted to use the new functions. Change-Id: I08deb016df22eee8288eb03de62593e45a1f0998

2015-05-13MALLOC_DEBUG: Replace WRAP_LIBC_MALLOC with ASTMM_LIBC.Corey Farrell
There are 3 ways that calls directly to standard allocator functions can be dealt with: 1. Block their use, cause them to generate an error. This is the default. 2. Replace them with the Asterisk equivalent function calls. 3. Leave them alone. This change allows one of these 3 options to be selected by any source. The source just needs to define ASTMM_LIBC to ASTMM_BLOCK, ASTMM_REDIRECT, or ASTMM_IGNORE to use option 1, 2 or 3 respectively. Normally ASTMM_BLOCK is the correct option, so it is default when ASTMM_LIBC is not defined. In some cases when building 3rd party code it is desirable to have it use Asterisk functions, without changing the whole source - ASTMM_REDIRECT accomplishes this. When using 3rd party libraries sometimes a static inline function will make use of malloc or free. In these cases it may be unsafe to replace the allocator in the header, as it's possible the memory could be freed by the library using standard allocators. For those cases ASTMM_IGNORE is needed. 2015-04-13git migration: Refactor the ASTERISK_FILE_VERSION macroMatt Jordan
Git does not support the ability to replace a token with a version string during check-in. While it does have support for replacing a token on clone, this is somewhat sub-optimal: the token is replaced with the object hash, which is not particularly easy for human consumption. What's more, in practice, the source file version was often not terribly useful. Generally, when triaging bugs, the overall version of Asterisk is far more useful than an individual SVN version of a file. As a result, this patch removes Asterisk's support for showing source file versions. Specifically, it does the following: * Rename ASTERISK_FILE_VERSION macro to ASTERISK_REGISTER_FILE, and remove passing the version in with the macro. Other facilities than 'core show file version' make use of the file names, such as setting a debug level only on a specific file. As such, the act of registering source files with the Asterisk core still has use. The macro rename now reflects the new macro purpose. * main/asterisk: - Refactor the file_version structure to reflect that it no longer tracks a version field. - Remove the "core show file version" CLI command. Without the file version, it is no longer useful. - Remove the ast_file_version_find function. The file version is no longer tracked. - Rename ast_register_file_version/ast_unregister_file_version to ast_register_file/ast_unregister_file, respectively. * main/manager: Remove value from the Version key of the ModuleCheck Action. The actual key itself has not been removed, as doing so would absolutely constitute a backwards incompatible change. However, since the file version is no longer tracked, there is no need to attempt to include it in the Version key. * UPGRADE: Add notes for: - Modification to the ModuleCheck AMI Action - Removal of the "core show file version" CLI command Change-Id: I6cf0ff280e1668bf4957dc21f32a5ff43444a40e
2015-04-11Add .gitignore and .gitreview filesGeorge Joseph
Add the .gitignore and .gitreview files to the asterisk repo. NB: You can add local ignores to the .git/info/exclude file without having to do a commit. Common ignore patterns are in the top-level .gitignore file. Subdirectory-specific ignore patterns are in their own .gitignore files. 2014-09-26core: Don't allow free to mean ast_free (and malloc, etc..).Walter Doekes
This gets rid of most old libc free/malloc/realloc and replaces them with ast_free and friends. When compiling with MALLOC_DEBUG you'll notice it when you're mistakenly using one of the libc variants. For the legacy cases you can define WRAP_LIBC_MALLOC before including asterisk.h. Even better would be if the errors were also enabled when compiling without MALLOC_DEBUG, but that's a slightly more invasive header file change. Those compiling addons/format_mp3 will need to rerun ./contrib/scripts/get_mp3_source.sh. 2014-07-04Remove many deprecated modulesMatthew Jordan
Billing records are fair, To get paid is quite bright, You should really use ODBC; Good-bye cdr_sqlite. Microsoft did once push H.323, Hell, we all remember NetMeeting. But try to compile chan_h323 now And you will take quite a beating. The XMPP and SIP war was fierce, And in the distant fray Was birthed res_jabber/chan_jingle; But neither to stay. For everyone did care and chase what Google professed. "Free Internet Calling" was what devotees cried, But Google did change the specs so often That the developers were happy the day chan_gtalk died. And then there was that odd application Dedicated to the Polish tongue. app_saycountpl was subsumed by Say; One could say its bell was rung. To read and parse a file from the dialplan You could (I guess) use an application. app_readfile did fill that purpose, but I think A function is perhaps better in its creation. Barging is rude, I'm not sure why we do it. Inwardly, the caller will probably sigh. But if you really must do it, Don't use app_dahdibarge, use ChanSpy. We all despise the sound of tinny robots It makes our queues so cold. To control such an abomination It's better to not use Wait/SetMusicOnHold. It's often nice to know properties of a channel It makes our calls right We have a nice function called CHANNEL And so SIPCHANINFO is sent off into the night. And now things get odd; Apparently one could delimit with a colon Properties from the SIPPEER function! Commas are in; all others are done. Finally, a word on pipes and commas. We're sorry. We can't say it enough. But those compatibility options in asterisk.conf; To maintain them forever was just too tough. This patch removes: * cdr_sqlite * chan_gtalk * chan_jingle * chan_h323 * res_jabber * app_saycountpl * app_readfile * app_dahdibarge It removes the following applications/functions: * WaitMusicOnHold * SetMusicOnHold * SIPCHANINFO It removes the colon delimiter from the SIPPEER function. Finally, it also removes all compatibility options that were configurable from asterisk.conf, as these all applied to compatibility with Asterisk 1.4 systems. 2012-03-13Enable macros in 1.8 to find the next highest "h" extension in a context, ↵Tilghman Lesher
like in 1.4. This change restores functionality that was present in 1.4, when AEL macros were implemented with the Macro dialplan application. Macros are fraught with functionality issues, because they consume a large portion of the underlying application stack. This limits the ability of AEL users to call many layers of subroutines, an issue which Gosub does not have (originally tested to 100,000 levels deep). Therefore, starting in 1.6.0, AEL macros were implemented with Gosub. However, there were some implicit behaviors of Macro, which were not replicated at the same time as with the transition to Gosub, one of which is documented in the related issue. In particular, the "h" extension is designed to execute not in the Macro context, but in the topmost calling context. Due to legacy issues with a misapplied bugfix many years ago, when a macro exited in 1.4, it looks in all calling contexts, bubbling up from the deepest level until it finds an "h" extension. Since AEL hides the complexity of the underlying dialplan logic from the AEL programmer, it's reasonable to assume that this behavior should not change in the transition from Asterisk 1.4 LTS to Asterisk 1.8 LTS, lest we break working AEL configurations in the transition to Asterisk 1.8 LTS. This fix is the result, which implements a search for the "h" extension in all calling Gosub contexts. https://origsvn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/branches/1.4 ........ r177225 | murf | 2009-02-18 15:43:14 -0700 (Wed, 18 Feb 2009) | 34 lines This patch fixes a regression of sorts that was introduced in rev 24425. It basically fixes AST-190/ABE-1782. What was wrong: the user has 6000 extensions in one context; and then 6000 contexts, one per extension. The parser could only handle about 4893 of the 6000 extens in the single context. This was due to the regression I mentioned. To get rid of shift/reduce conflicts, Luigi set up right-recursive lists for globals, context elements, switch lists, and statements. Right recursive lists got rid of the warnings, but instead, they use up a tremendous amount of stack space when the lists are long. I saw this a few years back, and resolved not to fix it until someone complained. That day has arrived! After the changes were made, I ran the regression test suite, and there were no problems. I took the test case the user provided, and added 100,000 extensions to the single context, that already had 6,000 extens in it. (I'll see your 6, and raise you 100!) It takes a few minutes to read it all in, check it and generate code for it, but no problems. So, I think I can say that fundamentally, there are no longer any limits on the number of items you can place in contexts, statement blocks, switches, or globals, beyond your virt mem constraints. ........ git-svn-id: https://origsvn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/trunk@177286 65c4cc65-6c06-0410-ace0-fbb531ad65f3

Also, in trying to find this bug, I spotted a situation in the flex input, where, in passing back a 'word' to the parser, it would allocate a buffer larger than necessary. I changed the usage in such situations, so that strdup was not used, but rather, an ast_malloc, followed by ast_copy_string. I removed a field from the pval struct, in u2, that was never getting used, and set in one spot in the code. I believe it was an artifact of a previous fix to make switch cases work invisibly with extens. And, for goto's I removed a '!' from before a strcmp, that has been there since the initial merging of AEL2, that might prevent the proper target of a goto from being found. This was pretty harmless on its own, as it would just louse up a consistency check for users. Many thanks to ckjohnsonme for providing a simplified and complete set of information about the bug, that helped considerably in finding and fixing the problem. Now, to get aelparse up and running again in trunk, and out of its "horribly broken" state, so I can run the regression suite! ........ git-svn-id: https://origsvn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/trunk@162079 65c4cc65-6c06-0410-ace0-fbb531ad65f3

This message is meant for probably only two people in the whole world: me, or the poor schnook that has to maintain this code because I'm either dead or unavailable at the moment. This fix solves two reports, both having to do with embedding a function call in a ${} construct. It was tricky because the funccall syntax has parenthesis () in it. And up till now, the 'word' token in the flex stuff didn't allow that, because it would tend to steal the LP and RP tokens. To be truthful, the "word" token was the trickiest, most unstable thing in the whole lexer. I was lucky it made this long without complaints. I had to choose every character in the pattern with extreme care, and I knew that someday I'd have to revisit it. Well, the day has come. So, my brilliant idea (and I'm being modest), was to use the surrounding ${} construct to make a state machine and capture everything in it, no matter what it contains. But, I have to now treat the word token like I did with comments, in that I turn the whole thing into a state-machine sort of spec, with new contexts "curlystate", "wordstate", and "brackstate". Wait a minute, "brackstate"? Yes, well, it didn't take very many regression tests to point out if I do this for ${} constructs, I also have to do it with the $[] constructs, too. I had to create a separate pcbstack2 and pcbstack3 because these constructs can occur inside macro argument lists, and when we have two state machines operating on the same structures we'd get problems otherwise. I guess I could have stopped at pcbstack2 and had the brackstate stuff share it, but it doesn't hurt to be safe. So, the pcbpush and pcbpop routines also now have versions for "2" and "3". I had to add the {KEYWORD} construct to the initial pattern for "word", because previously word would match stuff like "default7", because it was a longer match than the keyword "default". But, not any more, because the word pattern only matches only one or two characters now, and it will always lose. So, I made it the winner again by making an optional match on any of the keywords before it's normal pattern. I added another regression test to make sure we don't lose this in future edits, and had to fix just one regression, where it no longer reports a 'cascaded' error, which I guess is a plus. I've given some thought as to whether to apply these fixes to 1.4 and the 1.6.x releases, vs trunk; I decided to put it in 1.4 because one of the bug reports was against 1.4; and it is unexpected that AEL cannot handle this situation. It actually reduced the amount of useless "cascade" error messages that appeared in the regressions (by one line, ehhem). There is a possible side-effect in that it does now do more careful checking of what's in those ${} constructs, as far as matching parens, and brackets are concerned. Some users may find a an insidious problem and correct it this way. This should be exceedingly rare, I hope. ........ git-svn-id: https://origsvn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/trunk@141115 65c4cc65-6c06-0410-ace0-fbb531ad65f3
2008-09-03In these changes, I have added some explanationSteve Murphy
of changes to the Set and MSet apps, so people aren't so shocked and surprised when they upgrade from 1.4 to 1.6. Also, for the sake of those upgrading from 1.4 to 1.6 with AEL, I provide automatic support for the "old" way of using Set(), that still does the exact same old thing with quotes and backslashes and so on as 1.4 did, by having AEL compile in the use of MSet() instead of Set(), everywhere it inserts this code. But, if the app_set var is set to 1.6 or higher, it uses the "new", non-evaluative Set(). This only usually happens if the user manually inserts this into the asterisk.conf file, or runs the "make samples" command. git-svn-id: https://origsvn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/trunk@140824 65c4cc65-6c06-0410-ace0-fbb531ad65f3

2008-08-19These changes are in regards to bug 13249, where users are being surprised ↵Steve Murphy
by the changes made to the Set app in trunk/1.6.x, as they come from the 1.4 world. They are only bitten if they write their AEL dialplan in the 1.4 world, and then carry it over to a trunk/1.6.x installation where a "make samples" was executed, or where they hand-edited the asterisk.conf file and added the [compat] category with app_set = 1.6 (or higher). (this commit does not totally solve 13249, at least not yet) The change involves issueing a single warning while the AEL file is loading, if: 1. app_set is present in the config file, and set to 1.6 or higher. 2. there are double quotes in an assignment statement (eg x = "hi there";) 3. the warning was not already issued. The standalone app, aelparse, does not (yet) issue this warning. I'd have to have it read in the asterisk.conf file, and that's a bit of hassle. I'll add it if users request it, tho. git-svn-id: https://origsvn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/trunk@138815 65c4cc65-6c06-0410-ace0-fbb531ad65f3
