2017-11-01Prevent unload of modules which implement an Optional API.Corey Farrell
Once an Optional API module is loaded it should stay loaded. Unloading an optional API module runs the risk of a crash if something else is using it. This patch causes all optional API providers to tell the module loader not to unload except at shutdown. ASTERISK-27389 Change-Id: Ia07786fe655681aec49cc8d3d96e06483b11f5e6

2017-04-12modules: change module LOAD_FAILUREs to LOAD_DECLINESGeorge Joseph
In all non-pbx modules, AST_MODULE_LOAD_FAILURE has been changed to AST_MODULE_LOAD_DECLINE. This prevents asterisk from exiting if a module can't be loaded. If the user wishes to retain the FAILURE behavior for a specific module, they can use the "require" or "preload-require" keyword in modules.conf. A new API was added to logger: ast_is_logger_initialized(). This allows asterisk.c/check_init() to print to the error log once the logger subsystem is ready instead of just to stdout. If something does fail before the logger is initialized, we now print to stderr instead of stdout. Change-Id: I5f4b50623d9b5a6cb7c5624a8c5c1274c13b2b25
2016-10-27Remove ASTERISK_REGISTER_FILE.Corey Farrell
ASTERISK_REGISTER_FILE no longer has any purpose so this commit removes all traces of it. Previously exported symbols removed: * __ast_register_file * __ast_unregister_file * ast_complete_source_filename This also removes the mtx_prof static variable that was declared when MTX_PROFILE was enabled. This variable was only used in lock.c so it is now initialized in that file only. ASTERISK-26480 #close Change-Id: I1074af07d71f9e159c48ef36631aa432c86f9966

2015-04-13git migration: Refactor the ASTERISK_FILE_VERSION macroMatt Jordan
Git does not support the ability to replace a token with a version string during check-in. While it does have support for replacing a token on clone, this is somewhat sub-optimal: the token is replaced with the object hash, which is not particularly easy for human consumption. What's more, in practice, the source file version was often not terribly useful. Generally, when triaging bugs, the overall version of Asterisk is far more useful than an individual SVN version of a file. As a result, this patch removes Asterisk's support for showing source file versions. Specifically, it does the following: * Rename ASTERISK_FILE_VERSION macro to ASTERISK_REGISTER_FILE, and remove passing the version in with the macro. Other facilities than 'core show file version' make use of the file names, such as setting a debug level only on a specific file. As such, the act of registering source files with the Asterisk core still has use. The macro rename now reflects the new macro purpose. * main/asterisk: - Refactor the file_version structure to reflect that it no longer tracks a version field. - Remove the "core show file version" CLI command. Without the file version, it is no longer useful. - Remove the ast_file_version_find function. The file version is no longer tracked. - Rename ast_register_file_version/ast_unregister_file_version to ast_register_file/ast_unregister_file, respectively. * main/manager: Remove value from the Version key of the ModuleCheck Action. The actual key itself has not been removed, as doing so would absolutely constitute a backwards incompatible change. However, since the file version is no longer tracked, there is no need to attempt to include it in the Version key. * UPGRADE: Add notes for: - Modification to the ModuleCheck AMI Action - Removal of the "core show file version" CLI command Change-Id: I6cf0ff280e1668bf4957dc21f32a5ff43444a40e
2015-04-08clang compiler warnings: Fix pointer-bool-converesion warningsMatthew Jordan
This patch fixes several warnings pointed out by the clang compiler. * chan_pjsip: Removed check for data->text, as it will always be non-NULL. * app_minivm: Fixed evaluation of etemplate->locale, which will always evaluate to 'true'. This patch changes the evaluation to use ast_strlen_zero. * app_queue: - Fixed evaluation of qe->parent->monfmt, which always evaluates to true. Instead, we just check to see if the dereferenced pointer evaluates to true. - Fixed evaluation of mem->state_interface, wrapping it with a call to ast_strlen_zero. * res_smdi: Wrapped search_msg->mesg_desk_term with calls to ast_strlen_zero. 2014-09-26core: Don't allow free to mean ast_free (and malloc, etc..).Walter Doekes
This gets rid of most old libc free/malloc/realloc and replaces them with ast_free and friends. When compiling with MALLOC_DEBUG you'll notice it when you're mistakenly using one of the libc variants. For the legacy cases you can define WRAP_LIBC_MALLOC before including asterisk.h. Even better would be if the errors were also enabled when compiling without MALLOC_DEBUG, but that's a slightly more invasive header file change. Those compiling addons/format_mp3 will need to rerun ./contrib/scripts/get_mp3_source.sh. 2012-06-13Mark res_smdi/res_adsi as 'core' supported modulesMatthew Jordan
Recently, various issues surrounding weak symbols have caused problems with modules that rely on that feature to be enabled in menuselect. This includes app_voicemail and chan_dahdi, as they both rely upon res_smdi and res_adsi, which, in certain circumstances, may not be enabled by default in menuselect. Because res_smdi/res_adsi are dependencies for chan_dahdi/app_voicemail, this patch marks both as 'core' supported modules. This will allow both app_voicemail and chan_dahdi to be enabled as well, regardless of whether or not that system supports weak symbols. This patch provides a new implementation of the optional API support defined in asterisk/optional_api.h; this new version provides solves compatibility issues with the use of linker version scripts for suppressing global symbols. There were a number of bugs in the current implementation, most notably being that it was very likely on busy systems to pop off the wrong message from the SMDI message queue. So, this set of changes fixes the issues discovered as well as introducing some new ways to use the SMDI support which are required to avoid the bugs with grabbing the wrong message off of the queue. This code introduces a new interface to SMDI, with two dialplan functions. First, you get an SMDI message in the dialplan using SMDI_MSG_RETRIEVE() and then you access details in the message using the SMDI_MSG() function. A side benefit of this is that it now supports more than just chan_zap. For example, with this implementation, you can have some FXO lines being terminated on a SIP gateway, but the SMDI link in Asterisk. Another issue with the current implementation is that it is quite common that the station ID that comes in on the SMDI link is not necessarily the same as the Asterisk voicemail box. There are now additional directives in the smdi.conf configuration file which let you map SMDI station IDs to Asterisk voicemail boxes. Yet another issue with the current SMDI support was related to MWI reporting over the SMDI link. The current code could only report a MWI change when the change was made by someone calling into voicemail. If the change was made by some other entity (such as with IMAP storage, or with a web interface of some kind), then the MWI change would never be sent. The SMDI module can now poll for MWI changes if configured to do so. This work was inspired by and primarily done for the University of Pennsylvania. 2007-11-16Start untangling header inclusion in a way that does not affectLuigi Rizzo
build times - tested, there is no measureable difference before and after this commit. In this change: use asterisk/compat.h to include a small set of system headers: inttypes.h, unistd.h, stddef.h, stddint.h, sys/types.h, stdarg.h, stdlib.h, alloca.h, stdio.h Where available, the inclusion is conditional on HAVE_FOO_H as determined by autoconf. Normally, source files should not include any of the above system headers, and instead use either "asterisk.h" or "asterisk/compat.h" which does it better. For the time being I have left alone second-level directories (main/db1-ast, etc.). git-svn-id: https://origsvn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/trunk@89333 65c4cc65-6c06-0410-ace0-fbb531ad65f3
